Ubud Monkey
Forest is a nature reserve and temple complex in Ubud, Bali. This park is home
to about 340 monkeys which are known as long-tailed Macaques (Macaca
fascicularis). There are four groups of monkeys each were different areas
within the park. Ubud Monkey Forest is sacred is a popular tourist attractionin Ubud bali, and is often visited by over 10,000 tourists per month.
Ubud Monkey
Forest is owned by the villagers Padangtegal and foundations Wenara Wana
Padangtegal as Ubud Monkey Forest managers are also working to maintain the
sanctity of this park and promote the sacred site as a destination for
tourists.
Walking
around Ubud is an experience in itself unique. There is a famous story told by
Janet DeNeefe, the initiator of the Ubud Readers & Writers Festival, that
once a speaker in the festival decided to go out for a walk in Ubud before the
event, but he was so fascinated by the beautiful landscape and eventually he
forgot to come to talkshow.
You can also
rent a bicycle or motorcycle. Many visitors choose the bike because it is more
environmentally friendly. However, since Ubud is located in a mountainous area,
steep inclined path. If you do not want to bother payang pedaling a bicycle, a
motorcycle is a more logical choice.
Transportation
Ubud can be
reached about an hour from the airport by car. Taxis are also available at the
airport. Any travel agent in Denpasar also ready to pick you up at the airport.
If you are staying at the hotel, the hotel where you stay usually provide
shuttle service with reasonable cost.
Monkey
Forest Ubud street is the main road, so you will not miss it. Shops and restaurants
lining the streets, so you might also be able to stop to look around.
