Halong
Bay in Vietnam is one of the seven natural wonders of the world the latest,
coupled with the island of Komodo. In this bay, you can see the karst hills
that stand in the middle of the water. Unique! The
second day in Vietnam. I'm getting ready to visit Halong Bay which is one of
the natural wonders of the world. My roommate, Brandon, was preparing to visit
the same destination.
Exactly
at 8 am, a tour guide a tour to Halong Bay came to the hostel where I was
staying to pick me and Brandon. I followed the tour guide and tour bus-shaped
entered minibus. On the bus already there are many tourists beramput-faced
blonde and the rest of Asia. Buses continued to swirl around the Old Quarter to
pick up other tour participants.
After
all the passengers is fully charged, the bus departed for the Halong Bay. Old
Hanoi-Halong Bay trip will take about 3 hours. Along the way, the bus stopped
briefly in restaurants and the sale of souvenirs and gifts. There is enough to
make proud when I look at the hawker center of souvenirs here, a few snacks
like Oreo and Ritz, when I read behind the wrapper turns are produced in
Indonesia.
The
bus resumed its journey towards Halong Bay. After 3 hours in the bus finally
arrived at Halong Bay, where, during which only exist in a dream I do. There
are a lot of posters large enough that there is at the entrance to the Port of
Halong Bay.
The
images contained in the poster is a few rows of hill karst Halong Bay, as well
as cave drawings stalactites and stalagmites are decorated with colorful
lights. There is number 7 on the poster, followed by Vietnamese language that
seemed meaningful 7 Wonders of the World.
All
participants shared tour ticket to enter Halong Bay by the tour guide. After
holding each ticket, then one by one the participants entered the boat tour of
Halong Bay tour. Lots of tour boats anchored at the port of Halong Bay.
Forms
of tourist boats that will take me and the other participants is quite unique,
which follows the traditional style ship and brown. So that the impression of
the wood material is still visible. This makes this boat looks good and has a
characteristic. Although the traditional shape, but the facilities that are on
this ship is quite a luxury.
Ships
started out to bring all participants to witness the exotic tour Halong Bay.
From a distance looks row Halong Bay karst hills that look like dial-connect,
between the hills of one another. Several tour participants issued a camera to
capture every moment that passed. The number of islands or hills karst
contained in Halong Bay is about more than 1,000 islands. But only 900 islands
have been given names.
Ships
closer karst hills that look bigger. Rows of karst hills in Halong Bay is a
little in common with a row of hills located on the island of Phi-phi,
Thailand. Only the islands or a row of hills karst in Halong Bay have higher
numbers and shapes also vary.
Moreover,
in one of the hills karst in Halong Bay, there are cave stalactites and
stalagmites sizeable decorated with colorful lights. But for the beauty of the
underwater world is only owned by Phi-phi island in Thailand, compared to
Halong Bay.
Ships
began floating dock at a port measuring approximately 15 x 15 meters which are
building a small hut made of wood on it. Some passengers down to the floating
harbor and do some kayaking around the nearby karst hills. Rates for doing
kayaking is US $ 5 (about USD 60,000) per person.
Some
sellers of fruit and food vendors and soft drinks that use small boats began to
arrive towards pelabahan floating. Similar floating market in Banjarmasin. The
buyers began arriving towards the floating market. Among the fruits are sold
they are rambutan, Vietnamese, call Zambutan.
Once
satisfied doing kayaking and relaxing on a boat floating in the harbor, while
enjoying views of the karst hills, then ship heading to the next destination.
See clusters of stalactites and stalagmites found in a cave in one of the karst
hills.
Not
long after, the ship docked at the port near one of the karst hills specially
built ships to anchor tourist who want to visit the cave of stalactites and
stalagmites. By the time I get there, the port is being renovated. Looks like
Halong Bay wants to preen after being declared as one of the 7 natural wonders
of the world.
One
by one the tour participants got off the ship and into the cave which has
thousands of stalactites and stalagmites. I was amazed to see clusters of
stalactites and stalagmites that grow beautiful when illuminated by light
colorful. I and the other tour participants continue down the cave with the
texture of the road up and down and full of rocks. Finally a trip down the cave
to the exit. It appears some souvenir sellers at this exit.
All
tour participants come back one by one up the ship, and then the ship docked
back to the Port of Halong Bay. Actual journey through the islands of Halong
Bay still feels less satisfied, because not all of the island unexplored. Maybe
because there is a number of islands in Halong Bay is too much, so there is
enough time to approach everything. But never mind I am still grateful because
it could witness a wonder of the world directly.
The
vessel arrived at the Port of Halong Bay, all tour participants got off the
ship and headed for the bus, for subsequent transfer to their respective
destinations. Buses run to bring all participants to enjoy a tour of 3 hour
journey towards Hanoi. Around 20:00 at night, me and Brandon got off the bus
and walk about 500 meters to the hostel.
On
arrival at the hostel, I went out looking for dinner to a restaurant Tandoor,
places to eat kosher ever I go. This time I tried the other Indian menu but
that is still associated with rice, namely Kashmiri Pillau. Certainly not dare
to try again because the Tea Vietnamesse extraordinary bitterness. Menu
Kashmiri Pillau that I felt the message was not much different from the Nasi
Briyani, only be added to marinades in a separate container which is not
compatible with My tongue.
Finished
dinner, I returned home on foot to the hostel. For the return trip this time I
do not get lost like yesterday, because it was understood everywhere the
direction that must be passed. Once in the hostel, I direct this body rested
for the trip tomorrow.
