After years of intensive scientific research and
efforts to protect the archipelago's law, first championed by Jacques Cousteau,
he finally made a national park, the Parque Nacional Islas Marietas, in 2005.
The park spans almost 1,400 hectares.

On one of the islands is Playa de Amor, better
known as Hidden Beach. To get into this secluded paradise, visitors have to
swim through a short tunnel, to the stunning beach here. There are several tour
