Flores area surrounded by forests with endemic flora
that are rarely found in other parts of Flores. In addition to pine trees,
there are also casuarinas, red wood and edelweiss. Pine forest thrives in the
heights of Mount Kelimutu. Another part of this mountain dry with unstable
land. Local people believe that Kelimutu is sacred and spread the fertility of
their soil.
Visitors can only walk around Lake Kelimutu but not
all areas can be explored because some dangerous areas, and therefore
restricted. If you want to go trekking then there is a path from Moni to
Kelimutu is shorter than the car.
Distance from Moni to a peak of about 12 km. Distance
from Moni to park a motor vehicle is 11 miles, visitors have to climb the peak
via the mountain climbing about 30 minutes.
There are several places that you can visit such as
Blue Stone Beach, Former Disposal Site Home Bung Karno, and clear, shopping at
the Market Ikat cloth.
